With an atmosphere inspired by Portuguese taverns, Balcão is authentic and reveals a different side of the Chef.
In this tribute to Portuguese cuisine, Henrique Sá Pessoa displays his grasp of the traditional flavours that we all know so well and proposes other conventional dishes, with familiar ingredients, but with surprising touches.

He has had a very successful and highly varied gastronomic career, as a result of his travel experiences and international inspirations.
His first project in partnership with the Multifood Group appeared in 2013, with the opening of the restaurant Cais da Pedra, followed in 2014 by HSP Mercado da Ribeira, a small counter with signature cuisine.
In 2015 he reopened Alma and less than a year later he won his first Michelin Star as an Executive Chef, becoming one of the main references in Portuguese haute cuisine.
2017 was a year of consolidation and Tapisco was born from a fusion of Spanish Tapas and Portuguese Petiscos. Towards the end of the year, his range of projects grew with the opening of Balcão at El Corte Inglés – Gourmet Experience, inspired by Portuguese taverns and traditional flavours.
In 2018 he wins his second Michelin Star as Executive Chef of Alma restaurant, establishing himself as one of the leading references in the sector.
